Matt and I call him Hurricane Wyatt!! With good reason. One of Wyatt's favorite things to do...unload mom's cupboards in the kitchen - several times a day. If he weren't so cute, it might be a little annoying. At least he is entertaining himself.

Wyatt discovers one of the joys of autumn
Halloween 2008
Hello....so sorry about being so slow with posting Halloween pictures. Wyatt was a lion this year and he found the costume very annoying. But he was so cute!! The picture of him with the little girl was taken at Kindermusik and the other picture is him on our front porch. I think mom had more fun than Wyatt....I suppose that will change in years to come!!

Cousins galore!!!
We got to meet my brother Matt and his wife Lisa for lunch on Sunday. They have 4 kids. Wyatt had fun with his cousins. Here he is with Garret and Austin. Give Wyatt another year and this little group could spell a lot of TROUBLE!!! The top picture is Austin and Kenzie. Kenzie is 3 weeks older than Wyatt.
We love Eileen!!!
Here is Wyatt with Matt's cousin's wife, Eileen Thornton. We weren't sure how that makes them related but it doesn't matter because we love her no matter how we are related. Eileen and Dick came to visit from San Diego last week. It is always so nice to see them. They are some of the nicest people I have ever met!
Wyatt's a fan of the bath...no matter where it is!!

Happy 1st Birthday......can you believe it?!!
Well we are finally posting birthday photos....sorry for the delay. Don't ever buy a Toshiba laptop. It spends more time at the shop getting repaired than it does at our house which is why the delay. Anyways.....
Wyatt turned 1 on August 15th. Matt and I are amazed at how fast this 1st year went by. Although I did tell Matt that it does seem like a year since I got a whole night's sleep!!! But no complaints on my end. Well worth it. We had a big birthday bash for the little guy who couldn't figure out "what the big deal was" and "why were all these people at his house"?? The Gleeds made it down from Idaho and The Thorntons were well represented. The most important guests were the grandparents. He made out like a bandit....lots of toys and clothes but I have to say his most cherished gift was his lot of books. He loves books. The first thing he plays with in the morning and the last thing he does at night. He will just sit there and go through them page by page and read to himself or throw them at one of us to read to him. He is fascinated.
The birthday cake was made by mom and Aunt Chris. We thought he would dive into it but not so much. Just poked at it with his finger. He was so freakin cute!!! Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Wyatt loves his PUPPY!
Wyatt seems to have Matt's affinity for dogs....granted this one is stuffed and plays music and sings but its a start. He loves this toy. Mostly, he loves to "wrestle it". We are just going through our first illness. He has had croup for almost a week. We did good to get through 9 months without illness. Of course it came at the same time Wyatt has lost interest in breast-feeding. He thinks he just wants to eat adult food. He is very interested in what we eat. Hope you enjoy this cute picture.

Happy Mother's Day!!
Hello. Wyatt and Matt made sure that I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Wyatt sent me flowers on Saturday. I was so touched. Matt said he wondered why Wyatt had asked for his credit card. We met my parents on Saturday night at Maddox in Brigham City for dinner. Despite a little gumpiness from Wyatt, it was an enjoyable evening that went by too fast. On Sunday, Matt and Wyatt gave me a new and updated digital camera for Mother's Day. I do take a lot of pictures of him and was thrilled to get a new camera. Matt took me and his mother to brunch at wonderful place in downtown SLC called "Cafe Molise". It was very good. It was a fun and memorable day.....thanks to my husband who is always so thoughtful!! It felt good to be "celebrating" Mother's Day. Thanks Matt and Wyatt!! I'm lucky to have such a wonderful family!

"Could I be any cuter"
Wyatt turned 8 months old last week. I can't believe it! He sits up really well, reaches for things, sits and plays with his toys for a decent period of time...but he is nowhere close to becoming mobile. He shows no interest in figuring out the crawling thing. He has a lot of strength so we wonder if he will just move to walking...but who knows? As for now, we are just enjoying having an immobile child.
mmmm.......Prunes!!

Here's our serious boy!
Wyatt with more of his cousins!
This is a picture of Wyatt and his cousins. From left to right: Jordan, Austin, Kenzie, Wyatt and Garret. These kids belong to Lisa's brother Matthew and his wife Lisa. They live in Preston, ID and were passing through and stopped for a visit. Wyatt thought it was fun. He's not used to so much "hub-bub". It is good for him.

I love Grandma and Grandpa Gleed
Here, Wyatt is being entertained by Grandpa Gleed. They got see him last week and it was good for all of them! I have a portrait of Grandpa Gleed at about this age and there is a lot of similarity between Grandpa and Wyatt. But there is also a lot of Thornton in him. It will be interesting to see what he looks like.
I LOVE Balls!!!

And so it begins.......
Hello everyone. So sorry for the delay in blogging. Life is just keeping us busy. But that is no excuse for our faithful followers. Matt and I are having so much fun with this growing boy. He is getting close to 20 pounds and is almost 30 inches long. He is 7 months old now. Can you believe it? It is going by so fast. He is a big kid for his age. He's at the 90th percentile for his height. He's going to be tall like his daddy. We took him to the new aquarium here in Salt Lake yesterday. He actually paid pretty close attention to everything and lasted for about 45 minutes which we thought was good for his age. We get so excited to help him experience everything. Wyatt has gotten really good at reaching for things and thinking what is ours is his. He as already taking my car keys and the remote.......and so it begins.

Wyatt gets mugged!!!
Wyatts poor cheeks must have been so tired from all the kissing he received over the weekend. My family doesn't get to see him a lot so they made up for all the lost "kissing moments". Wyatt seemed not to mind too bad. He took it all in stride. One day, when he is a teenager, he will probably be mad at me for this picture. Here, he is being attacked on either side by his Aunt Chris and his Aunt Erin.
Wyatt and Colby
Wyatt and I went to Idaho over the weekend to visit family. Wyatt had a lot of people excited to see him but none more so than his cousin, Colby. Colby, who is 9, wants a little brother so bad. He carried Wyatt all over the place and Wyatt seemed to like him as much. It was very cute. This picture is of Wyatt and Colby laying on the floor playing.

Wyatt's little friend!!

The "Gleed" in him is starting to come out!
In this picture, we are starting to see more and more Gleed in Wyatt. In fact, Matt feels there is more Gleed than Thornton at this point. He is starting to look a little like his cousin Colby and has a some features from his uncles and his Grandpa Gleed. It is so fun to see what he is ultimately going to look like!
Wyatt is trying really hard to get the "sitting up" thing mastered. He can do it for a few seconds but the abs tire out. I keep telling him he needs to start working his core for more endurance of this process but he is going to do his own thing. Welcome to parenthood! He got this computerized ball for Christmas and loves it. Here, he is 5.5 months old.
